Review & Praise for Overture by Skye Warren
Ally’s Review: This has been one of my favorite romance reads of the year so far!
That was a tortuous, sexy slow burn with a cliff hanger! Skye Warren, gave us a taste, a deliciously scandalous one, and then dropped a bomb only to say Find Out What Happens Next!❤️ All of the bubbling tension kept me on edge and wanting more!
Liam is a damaged, hardened soul who I love! I want to know so much more about him and his brothers, which I can only hope will turn into a spin off series please! He is a broody, overprotective Alpha with a dark past and a secret love for Samantha!
Then there is sweet, violin genius Samantha who has lusted and loved Liam for what feels like forever to her! The history of her father and family is intriguing. This is a complex novel with darker tones that is a very enjoyable read. The age gap and taboo relationship that springs from the warden and his charge added a great dynamic to the story.
The possibility of their forbidden relationship makes the reader only want it more! Liam’s rough and primal approach to sex makes sense for his character. He is a wounded wild animal so some of what he says I would find vulgar for another character in another book works for him! I appreciated the non-sugar coating of feelings and events. It made these two more interesting and intimate.
I am so excited to read what comes next!
Thank you so much to the author for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review!

From the Author: The world knows Samantha Brooks as the violin prodigy. She guards her secret truth—the desire she harbors for her guardian.
Liam North got custody of her six years ago. She’s all grown up now, but he still treats her like a child. No matter how much he wants her.
No matter how bad he aches for one taste.
Her sweet overtures break down the ex-soldier’s defenses, but there’s more at stake than her body. Every touch, every kiss, every night. The closer she gets, the more exposed his darkest secret.
She’s one step away from finding out what happened the night she lost her family. One step away from leaving him forever.
